Crown Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Heard today that the 6th will be losing its FID mission. Sad if it's true, very unique capability just never seemed to fit.
Butters Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Heard today that the 6th will be losing its FID mission. Sad if it's true, very unique capability just never seemed to fit. They are losing their Flame Ionization Detecting mission! That does suck.
HeloDude Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 They're losing their rotor wing mission...fixed wing mission will still be active (so I've been told).
Breckey Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 They got news sometime in the summer. One more cool Huey assignment down the drain.
Breckey Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Except the Army won't take any of the Mi-17 mission from Afghanistan.
Ebony zer Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 One of the reasons the Army turned the job down was due to airworthiness issues with the Mi-17. While they may not be doing the training directly, they are pretty involved in some of the training we are doing.
flyguy2181 Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 How will this effect their hiring? It seems that they have been recruiting for their squadron for a while.
