spaceman Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 This is getting ridiculous! https://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/08/24/shooting-reported-outside-empire-state-building/ Plus, I thought NYC was a gun free zone so how could this happen?!
GrndPndr Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 They will blame Virginia. https://www.firearmstruth.com/2011/ny-daily-news-blames-virginia-for-nyc%E2%80%99s-gun-problem FM
Kenny Powers Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Plus, I thought NYC was a gun free zone so how could this happen?! People who shoot other people in the head don't give a shit about laws like this.
Masshole Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Plus, I thought NYC was a gun free zone so how could this happen?! Only if you are a law-abiding citizen.
Masshole Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) The shooter was fired from his job a year ago and went after his ex-boss before going random. Edited August 24, 2012 by Masshole
Learjetter Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 And, apparently, the cops shot a few bystanders as well.
Guest Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 And, apparently, the cops shot a few bystanders as well. That's definitely a WTF.
HU&W Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 The shooter had a 7 round clip. He shot 5 rounds into the head of the guy who fired him from his job as a women's fashion accessories designer one year ago. They found the remaining two rounds still in the weapon after he was killed. He then walked away from the scene of that murder and a witness alerted two police officers of the murder. The police officers followed him to the Empire State Building. He turned around to face them with a gun in his hand. Between the two officers, 16 shots were fired. According to reports, 7 hit the shooter. Each of the other 9 bullets hit bystanders (non-lethal). Some may have been ricochet's. Again, this was in a "gun free" zone like most shootings where more than one person was shot. The difference here is you have two police officers that caused most of the damage. Of course, the media is trying to spin this as an active shooter situation, but really it's just a revenge hit. After all, the shooter only put his bullets in his target.

FUSEPLUG Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 According to one news report, https://www.stjollysart.com was this guy's website. Some pretty funny captions to some pretty crappy art. Looks like he drew 4 different pictures then just slapped them together in different scenarios and planned to sell them on t-shirts and coffee cups. Be sure to checkout the alternate realities section... wow.
GoodSplash9 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I just saw on tv that 9 of the wounded were unintentionally shot by the two police who were first to respond. Apparently the guy drew his rifle(I think), and they both unloaded a whole clip into him on a crowded street. Sounds like they hit him about 12 times, so can't fault them too much.

The guy had a pistol, not a rifle. He shot one person & walked away; cops then shot him plus 9 bystanders hitting the gunman 10 times. Police shot a total of 16 rounds (neither officer "emptied his clip"). Heres a link: https://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/08/25/nypd-shooting-bystander-victims-hit-by-police-gunfire/ Hardly a mass shooting.

Another article said it was 10 bullet holes. 7 were entry wounds and three were exit wounds.
17D_guy Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) According to Fox - "Police have determined that three people were struck by whole bullets -- two of which were removed from victims at the hospital -- and the rest were grazed "by fragments of some sort," Kelly said." https://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/08/25/nypd-shooting-bystander-victims-hit-by-police-gunfire/ EDIT - decided to cite my source. Danger41 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I'd like to hear a Gunship crew say "well only 3 friendlies were hit, but at least we got him!"
Napoleon_Tanerite Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 And, apparently, the cops shot a few EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE bystanders as well.
