ViperDriver114 Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 This site is largely responsible for helping me get my fighter slot and I will use it all the way through training. Talk about making a difference. Think of the amount of guys/girls that have used this site to help them achieve their dream! What a man, forever in debt! R.I.P and Blue Skies!
Gravedigger Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 A sincere thank you to Rich/Baseops.net. I have learned far more from this site over the last 8+ years than I ever did from ROTC or active duty. This is truly very sad.
Bergman Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Total shock. As with Scooter and many others, God only knows where my career would be without Rich and all the help he and this website provided. Rest in Peace, brother.
Bishop Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) Never made it onto active duty, but ive enjoyed many hours of entertainment from this board.I hope we can do something to ensure this site lives on. So long Bo.net Edited September 21, 2012 by Bishop

LockheedFix Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Damn. I had actually been emailing Rich back and forth and was wondering why he hadn't replied to my last email. Seemed like a great guy that was willing to do anything to help a fellow Herk driver out. He will be sorely missed.
Royal Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I doubt there's a flying squadron in the Air Force that hasn't felt the benefit of what Rich has done. There's no way to begin to quantify the positive effects of his work. We're all in his debt. Thank you, brother. 5
TacAirCoug Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 What a tremendous loss. I knew Rich down in Corpus Christi and have been impressed with him ever since. He had a great idea, through hard work he made it a reality, and we are all better off for it. Godseed, friend.
egochecks Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) Impossible to quantify the positive impact he's had on the services and those whom he enabled to chase their dreams, myself absolutely included. Baseops is a legacy if ever I've seen one. I hope his family knows the impact he's had. I didn't know he was so young. A sad loss. Him him. Edited September 21, 2012 by egochecks 1
slacker Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I'm fairly certain that Rich created the most useful site for any Air Force pilot. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing and the skies are darker in his absence. 3
Techsan Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Very sad to hear. Rest in peace, brother.
Danger41 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Tragic. Never knew him, but he sounds like quite the man. Him Him
TheGuardGuy Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Could someone post the citation for his DFC with Valor? I'd really like to know how it was earned. Thx
HercDude Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Could someone post the citation for his DFC with Valor? I'd really like to know how it was earned. Thx Rich had some assignments that were "under the radar" if you will. Probably not open source info. I first met him when he was an IP at Corpus & I was a student. He was by far the most energetic and probably flat out the best IP I had there. I ended up in the same squadron at Pope he had ben in previosuly and he took the time to sit down with me and detail out what to expect, what to do, and most importantly what not to do in the "real Air Force". A class act all around. Rest Easy. 3
