georgez Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Hey guys, If I have monofixation disorder, what is the liklihood I could get a waiver to become a USAF Combat Systems Officer? I don't think I could pass that depth perception test and am just curious if they would waiver it or just disqualify me. If I can't would Navy NFO work? Thanks, George
pbar Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Can't speak to your specific medical issue, but I'm a rated navigator (CSO) and I have an indefinite depth perception waiver. I'd say it's a possibility at least.

Heterotropia, including microtropias and monofixation syndrome, at near or distance. The waiver potential exists and is detailed in the link in my signature block. Monofixation is lumped together with depth perception, and has an 87% approval rate (for all IFC categories, doesn't break down by I/IA/II/IIU/III/etc.). You have a very good chance of waiver.
