HuggyU2 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) Dos Gringos banned in the vault in Korea. Not joking. Give it <72 more hours. Just the start. Hopefully I'm wrong. Edited December 5, 2012 by Huggyu2
sky_king Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Yes, let's bust out the acoustic guitar and tambourine during roll call, sing the air force song (all verses) drink warm milk and eat cookies. We can give examples of how our squadron mates exemplified the core values over the past week, do a reading or two from the Airmans Manual, and maybe one from 36-2903 or 11-217 for good measure, then adjourn a little early to do some mentoring with your supervisor and practice bullet writing. Minus the 36-2903 and 11-217, that's not far off from the last "roll call" I attended in my squadron. Seriously..........

D-ron Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Our Wing was directed to search public areas - to include the vault, shared drive, and heritage room - for any pornographic materials, song books, doofer books, etc. Huggy is right It's going to get ugly. Save those old song books before they get confiscated. We've already been told to tone down our roll calls... That stupid bitch.
yatalpan Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Our Wing was directed to search public areas - to include the vault, shared drive, and heritage room - for any pornographic materials, song books, doofer books, etc. Same at my Wing...directed for all wings by CSAF
lazlo Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I'm still trying to find Exhibit "S" from the document...
Guest Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I would not have predicted it would have been a 1CO that would bring it all down. Hard to believe she had so much access. I blame Beaver. She definitely would not have liked Robin Olds, he knew every song in every book. But he would've kicked her out of the bar/vault. I'm with Huggy, this is probably the end of what is left of many fighter pilot traditions. The worst thing you can do is make a big issue about this and draw attention to yourself as one of the guys throwing a tantrum. Twenty years ago there was an enormous step change, bigger than this one. Everyone thought it was the end of the fun. We were wrong. It is not the end of the world. Roll with it and if you don't know how to notch, learn ASAFP.
10percenttruth Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Leadership here just went down the hallway & into offices removing anything "offensive" from the walls & desks. It has begun
BattleRattle Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Could this little episode be the storyline for a new Dos Gringos song?

Fuzz Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Golden quote from the AF.mil news site: 12/5/2012 12:01:40 PM ET Have we reached the point where the AF CoS has to order Wing Commanders to commandThen again when was the last time one of them was in the dorms on a Friday night vs. hanging out with the flight crews in a squadron bar or the O Club Sgt Snorkle, USA

DFRESH Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) AF Crimes Story: https://www.airforcet...pctions2-120512 This entire page made me sick to my stomach. “In my view, all this stuff is connected. If we’re going to get serious about things like sexual assault, we have to get serious about an environment that could lead to sexual harassment. In some ways this stuff can all be linked,” Welsh said Dec. 4. “I’m not saying every case is linked, but it could be linked, and why would we want to tolerate there even being a chance of that?" Is this going to turn into Minority Report... where the future police are going to lock me up because while I checked out Amn Sexypants' tight ass I contemplated how fun it would be to play "just the tip" or a little "ouch ouch you're on my hair"? Kenny Powers Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Heard it today at my ANG unit from OG/CC.

Muscle2002 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Our Wing was directed to search public areas - to include the vault, shared drive, and heritage room - for any pornographic materials, song books, doofer books, etc. A smaller instance of this happened in my squadron while downrange. A spouse was upset over a squadron member's callsign (had been for just under a year) and when she finally blew, the Bing was stripped of everything and approximately half of the doofer book's pages were ripped out.

I'm still not sure what he is getting at; does he thinks a WG/CC wants to spend a Friday night playing a World of Warcraft or Skyrim LAN party with Amn Snuffy?

Napoleon_Tanerite Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Eventually we'll just have to love our enemies to death. Then again, that my imply sexual desire. Better not... But is it ever OK to call them a bitch?
Kilgore Trout Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Unfortunately it looks like we need a good all out shit hits the fan shooting war to put things back in to perspective.
Crosswind Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I just got done reading through the Complaint and the HuffingPost comments. Haters gonna hate. Things are gonna change. It's gonna suck. There's one lady on there who claims to be an assistant professor of Psychology. Question to people like her - when will psychologist/society realize that an off-color demeanor exist in all of us, and that gallows humor has a purpose, especially in a high-stress situation. There's a reason why Tosh.0 is the # 1 show on Comedy Central. Let's stop hiding from who we are. The reason I'm drinking in the bar at 1300 is because I showed up at 0200 and flew a simulated combat mission that I kill removed from, twice. I'm thinking about that, and how it would effect my daughter. The reason I sing that song is the same reason every warrior culture had drinking songs - because our lives can be very intense, and wearing blues and curtseying military women for their "bravery" doesn't take a chip out of that. That being said - I'm not going to tolerate any level of sexual assault or direct sexual harassment. You tell an Airman she has a nice ass - answer to me. You touch her, answer to Security Forces. You want to sing a song, go to a bar to meet women, I'll join in and be your wingman anytime. 3
sky_king Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 But is it ever OK to call them a bitch? I learned there is no right answer to that question, however, the instructor did lean pretty far to one side of the room.
