DEVIL Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 For the record, I'd probably trust the NYPD with shoot/no shoot and accuracy before the one weekend a month 2 weeks a year types, absolutely no offense to the Guard they're doing a great job over there.
busdriver Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 How often do you think the average cop trains at the range?
Hodor Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I'd trust a guard soldier with firearms before a civilian cop. Many of them are cops. most of the guard officers I knew growing up were also avid hunters and went to range often.
zmoney Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I don't know how true this is... National Guard troops have patrolled Penn Station since 9/11. I saw a few about a month ago.

WTF? You slam the guard as "weekend warriors" then the very next sentence say, "no offense to the Guard". If you really believe that the guard is still one weekend a month, two weeks a year, I suggest you choke yourself. 3

You saw the national guard, but did you know they don't have bullets? Same at the airport since 9/11 - the mayor has forbidden them from having ammo. It's like a bad 80's movie where everyone dies because the people in charge are idiots. Oh and this just in - Bloomberg denies food donations to homeless shelters because they can't assess the nutritional content. https://now.msn.com/hard-to-swallow-bloomberg-bans-food-donations-to-homeless-shelters You can't make this sh*T up, it's insane...
nsplayr Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Oh and this just in... In March. No saying it's right, Bloomberg is far too nanny-state even for a liberal like me, but it's not new news. Any idea is this rule has held up during/after Sandy?
SocialD Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 ...And Jersey sends workers away because they are not union! UFB!

Any idea is this rule has held up during/after Sandy? You will learn, this is where they want to go, mark my words and remember this statement. Someday you will not be able, even in your own left wing ideals, be able to stop the train to socialism. Hate my statements as you wish, but deep down inside, you know this. And now we are going to ban some more stuff, so much for to each his own liberal, we accept anyone, respect everyone's opinion and rights. You will regret your vote. https://www.examiner.com/article/senator-feinstein-looking-to-introduce-new-assault-weapons-ban Edited November 12, 2012 by matmacwc

Lol...yea, socialism by the billionaire business man, and recent Republican BTW, mayor. Yes, I'm sure he hates private ownerships of the means of production.../sarcasm. You know what socialism is, right? It's not just a catch-all for anything you don't like, it's something pretty specific. Nanny-statism, which is what is going in in NYC, that's a different thing all together and I think you'll find a lot of liberals (like many of the ones who live there!) who don't agree with the mayor in some of his efforts. And now we are going to ban some more stuff, so much for to each his own liberal thought. Don't worry, this isn't going anywhere. M2 debriefed this pretty well in the guns thread. I doubt this would pass the Senate even with 55 Dems, let along the GOP-controlled house. I bet it won't even come up for a vote in the Senate if Reid is smart. Edited November 12, 2012 by nsplayr
matmacwc Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) We will see. And I am a kind of "Told you so" kind of person. Edited November 12, 2012 by matmacwc
