TacAirCoug Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Not. Good. FAA orders 787 grounding until battery problem fixed
SocialD Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Eh, pretty standard "teething" issues with a new aircraft. I wouldn't be too worried about. Never fly the A-model of anything.
Napoleon_Tanerite Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Woah-- LiPo batteries in a commercial jet? I can understand the concern. I use those things in my RC toys, and they're GREAT for low weight, high power applications, but they are very prone to fire if over charged or damaged. Not my helicopter, but I've got one like it. Jump to :35 for the crash and aftermath. BTW, that's about a $2000 helicopter. Edited January 17, 2013 by Napoleon_Tanerite
Butters Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 It is all a conspiracy. Obama did this to draw attention away from the fact that he is training a secret Army to come and collect all of our guns! 1
Butters Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Ban batteries! Funny, but even funnier is the fact that Lithium-ion Batteries are "high capacity" batteries. Oh, and funnier still is the batteries were made in Japan. Edited January 17, 2013 by Butters
