Wow - bringing back the memories of doing this process in the late 90s. About 50 applications, 3 invites, 1 job offer. It's always been a competitive process but hang in there. Ironically was still receiving invites after graduation UPT!

I got a very polite TBNT, but I can confirm that interview invites have gone out for Maxwell.

Best of luck to those selected to interview!

I still have not heard back with either a yes or no from Maxwell for what its worth.

Anyone heard a rumor about only ~20 selects going to UPT next year? That's what I'm hearing in the Make Them Tell You No Facebook group. I know there are huge backlogs but that seems absurdly low. And supposedly that's a Total Force directive so that 20 reflects AD, Guard, and Reserve.

Depends on what you mean by “next year.” For fiscal year 2021 I can tell you that AD’s goal is 80 pilots.

Please forgive the stupid question, but that's incredibly low, right?

And would it be just as stupid to assume that's somehow related to COVID delays for current classes?

80 is low. Multiple AD boards have been cancelled/postponed. As of right now, AD is only planning one rated board for FY21. It’s possible they could add more. I guess it depends how well the first one goes. It’s safe to assume this is due, at least in part, to covid.

Here is some information I received: Air Force Reserve command has limited the amount of UPT slots for the upcoming fiscal year, realistically less than 50% of the pilot training allocation slots it usually does.  That is a total of 92 UPT slots for 2021.  Additionally they have 56 flying squadrons that are under 90% manned. The summation of that is AFRC is going to allocate its 92 slots for the undermanned units.

This sounds a billion times more plausible. Was that from a Reserve recruiter?

Looks like Tuscon interview notifications went out today. I'll be there in November and I'm hoping to see some of you all there as well!
