FYI for all who applied to the 121st in DC, an invite for their second-round video interviews just went out this afternoon. It's a bit unclear if this interview is the final board or a video pre-screen for the final board, but things are moving again. There were 124 applicants this year.

I’m a bit confused as they just sent an email on Wednesday saying we should expect to hear back by January. Did you get a call or email about the interview?

I also received the Wednesday email stating that we should expect to hear by Jan 2021. It appears they followed up quicker than initially indicated. Wednesday's note was from a (I presume) recruiter, while today's follow-up interview invite came via email from two of the pilots in the squadron.

Well I guess that’s it then. Out of 124 applicants, how many got an interview?

Edit: Forgot to say good luck!

They did not clarify, and the email recipients were on BCC.

I got nothing back from them since my application in February, until Wednesday and today. No first round. It seems like others may have already had some sort of interview?

I read that as the application itself was the first round, video interview will be the second round, and so on

Yeah, this was my interpretation as well.

Well my first meet and greet is this weekend. Any advice form anyone or things to expect that you didn’t? I know that’s vague but just want to see if anyone has any insight or tips.

Thanks!

Guessing this is with the Okies? Im curious as to how it went and what the process was like!

Anyone who sat in on any of the VTANG zooms: can you recall if they said anything about emailing a pdf copy of the package or is it just the hard copy? Thanks in advance.

I remember him saying to mail in a hard copy, but I was second guessing myself so I checked their website and it does say to mail it with the address listed. Good luck!

It was with the Okies. Like I said it was my first time at a meet and greet so I didn't really know what to expect. It went well though, myself along with other interviewees met at the visitor center outside the base in the morning and were escorted on. The majority of the day we spent at the squadron meeting pilots and anyone else around, introducing ourselves and talking about our interests in the Unit, etc. It was very laid back but got to hear some about the history of the squadron, the mission, the airframe, and got to tour around. All in all a great experience to get to meet a unit you are interested in and let them get to know you before the possibility of an interview.

The 176th and 168th recently hired up in Alaska, anyone get interviewed or have experience with them?

I got a TBNT from them. They wanted someone that had already gone to OTS. You didn’t have to be rated but you did have to be an officer already.

Has anyone heard back from the Civil path to wings?

I got an initial email stating I'd be contacted with further information, but other than that nothing. That was about 2 weeks ago.

Which squadron up there said that?

The CPW is having a validation in December (10-13) where you go to Texas and take a few tests to make sure you are qualified to skip a portion of UPT. Their next validation is feb possibly.

Texas ANG F-16s:

Anyone who interviewed there, did you hear of a final decision?

Are you referring to the 457th FS?

UPT

I didn't know they had a UPT board this year. Did you just call someone from the squadron to find out about it?
