Azimuth Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) The new name has been chosen, Pegasus. Edited February 21, 2014 by Azimuth
Warrior Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I don't want to put a damper on the tanker homoerotica, but what would y'all have liked to see it named?

FUSEPLUG Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 "Citibank KC-46 brought to you by Doritos." Funding issues solved. 10
JarheadBoom Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) If it meant squawking "This contact brought to you by ____________" over the radio on every local trainer, I'd do it to keep the jets funded. Back on topic... that's one of the dumbest airplane names I've heard in a long time. edit: format Edited February 21, 2014 by JarheadBoom 1
Royal Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 "The Gas Mutilator" sponsored by Brawndo...It's got what planes crave. 2

Bergman Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Should've been named the Phoenix to accurately capture its acquisition history... 1
panchbarnes Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Raise your hand if you were forced to play the Boeing-sponsored Tanker Acquisition board game from back in the days where the winner (everyone) had to choose the buy/lease option. Edited February 21, 2014 by PanchBarnes
Spoo Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Pegasus? Wow, that's almost as gay as 'Fighting Falcon'.
ExBoneOSO Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Pegasus? Wow, that's almost as gay as 'Fighting Falcon'. Or as gay as "Lancer" - of course, the reason they gave us when they made that choice was that Lancer was a historical name from WW2 - even though we had never heard of the P-43 before then. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_P-43_Lancer Edited February 21, 2014 by ExBoneOSO
Azimuth Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 An interesting note, the squadron that the crew members on Shell 77 were assigned to the 93 ARS, which are the Pegasus. That's the same squadron that was the KC-135 CCTS school at Castle.
so.it.goes Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 StratoBukkake I don't laugh out loud from posts on here, but I did for that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Right Seat Driver Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Should've been named the Phoenix to accurately capture its acquisition history... I still am not fully convinced everything is going to work out as fragged...
