HeyWatchThis Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 https://www.airforcetimes.com/article/20140515/CAREERS/305150044/Air-Force-offer-3-years-off-airmen-start-families Apparently the Navy has been doing this since 2012. I get that they will supposedly get "reset" in a new year group but won't it still be obvious when you have a 3 yr gap in OPR/EPRs?
olevelo Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 The reset isn't to try to fool anyone into thinking that you're in that year group. I'm sure there will be something else in your records that show you did this program. The reset is simply so that you compete against others who have the same amount of time in actual service instead of against your classmates who now have 3 years of USAF experience over you.
Stitch Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 WTF. Are people this stupid? Yes, yes they are. You know its true.
HU&W Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 in addition to any other service obligations. Nonconcurrent ADSC?
AnimalMother Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 WTF. Are people this stupid? seriously. Who the hell would agree to 6 more years of this BS after getting 3 years on the outside?
addict Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) pay day loans? "hey, check your inbox (rater) got a good deal for you that I don't care about in 3 years" Edited May 17, 2014 by addict
BolterKing Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 WTF. Are people this stupid? You asking this question, answers it. /sarcasm
Toro Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 If I merge this thread with the Force Shaping thread, will it make sense?
FBomb Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I don't think so. In reality, the Force Shaping thread is really about cutting people. This, in LtGen Cox's words, is about retainment.
