Would the fighter porch remain ownership and determine assignments? Is conversion to a new AFSC possible? Which office would control the process and decide the outcome? Thanks for the help.

Depends on the specifics of your DQ waiver and your remaining or new ADSC. Are you DQ'd from ALL flying classes or just FCI/II? What about UAV/GBC? Regardless, re-assignment ownership would likely flow back to AFPC Assignments. I've seen this for several Enlisted but Officer is much less common. Recommend you send a request through MyPers to the Assignments folks, assuming somebody at Assignments is slightly more competent than a brain-dead monkey.

Go to Law school, start a TV show. But really, if you are young enough there is a program for that, I looked into it years ago.

pbar Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 At my last assignment we had a former 11M who become permanently DQ. He then cross-flowed into logistics and is now managed by the logistics careerfield (plus he just got picked up for RAS so he gets dual-managed).
edfsr Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 From the attached document it appears that once DQ'd, an officer's career manager (the fighter porch in this case) works with other career field managers to find a new home for the officer. RUMINT suggests that the fighter porch will not release an 11F to a new career field and will instead use them to fill non-flying fighter billets, most likely staff. That's the theory. POKESC17 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I was an 11M and 11U that was medically DQ'd (trying to come back, very LONG road). Crossed over to Logistics and now owned by Logistics functional. I've been in Logistics for just under a year now.

If you are a permanently DQ'd 11F and still have 6 years left on your ADSC but can't fly, will they just find something else for you to do for 6 years or is there a possibility of getting out early?
