hispeed7721 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I was hoping it was another celebrity punk when I saw the headlines...such a great comedian
HeloDude Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Thank you for the laughs and heartfelt moments over the years...and most importantly, thank you for going above and beyond by traveling to war zones and providing relief for our service men and women. May you find rest and peace and many condolences to your family. Class... 1
chim richalds Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I've been told firsthand by several guys that got to fly him that he was awesome, noting but respect. Really is sad news.
Mustache Sally Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Ugh...how terrible. I've been a big fan of his since "Good Morning Vietnam" and often wondered whether he'd win his battle with drugs and depression. I actually met him once, when I lived in Chicago. He was walking by himself in the middle of the afternoon--with no entourage or fanfare--and asked me where the nearest L station was located. I gave him walking directions to the station at Damen/North/Milwaukee along the Blue Line. He was very appreciative and pleasant. I even remember the funny red hat he wore. An encounter I'll never forget!
