Breckey Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Not looking good. Almost 18 hours since the crash and no sign of the pilot.
Highside Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 We lost a really really good guy. I know people always say this, but Moose was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I'm just shocked and saddened.
Kaman Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) https://www.wdbj7.com/news/local/plane-reportedly-crashes-in-augusta-county/27752976 I am stunned..Grew-up next to Otis and the pilot had been a pilot with the 102nd before the BRAC moved them to the 104th and Barnes ANGB...I live about 50 miles away, and found it so frustrating that I couldn't go out and look for him...God bless his family and squadron mates... "Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air "Up, up the long delirious burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle, flew; and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of God Edited August 29, 2014 by Kaman

Not sure what channels are using, but everything I read says the name is still being withheld. Slightly inappropriate to share even a call sign without this playing out. With all due respect... Nickel on the grass... 1

Kaman Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 All I can say...Is that I am very sad about this...A bit of a connection with Mass and the F-15s at Otis that moved to Barnes...My sister was good friends with one of the last 101st FS CCs
C5-Heavy Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Col Keefe just reported that the pilot died as a result of injuries sustained; he did not eject. A sad day. Prayers to the families and loved ones. I would not want to speculate on what happened at this point. Farewell Eagledriver. May you rest in peace
