The Lefty Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 More bad news for the year. A nickel on the grass for another good dude. No word on base, just "shortly after takeoff" and not combat related. https://www.businessinsider.com/an-american-f-16-pilot-was-killed-in-a-crash-in-the-middle-east-2014-12
brabus Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Great friend and fighter pilot - it never gets easier. A nickel on the grass dude; I'll see you again in the next life.
B*D*A Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 He was my best friend. Here's to you Will, you goofy SOB. You are already missed by 1000's and the world is a lesser place. A nickel on the grass... 14
busdriver Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 A toast... The emotional price paid to be one of the men in the arena can be steep, but there is no closer bond. 4

ShavedDogsAss Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 These are the little-seen aspects of what we each fight for. Very moving. Godspeed Pyro. Here's a toast.
Ram Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Dunno if anyone has seen this yet, but the AIB must have been released. (I'm out of the cockpit for a while, so I lost my AFSAS access and haven't read the SIB yet, so this is best I can do...) https://www.airforcetimes.com/story/military/2015/07/13/air-force-f16-crash-december-2014/30077961/
Day Man Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 "Despite published [squadron] guidance to the contract, this 'self set-up' approach by members of the [squadron] was a common practice within the squadron," the report states. Leaders had taken steps to stop pilots from setting up their own approaches in this way, but they had not been effective. Wow...that sounds like some serious CYA shit.
