HuggyU2 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 A cool story. https://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/117011 3
Spinner Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 "Thank you for your service and thank you for your daughter!" Nicely done, Jimmy, nicely done. 2
pcola Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Very cool. I hope Bremont comp'd the watch considering the publicity he just gave them!
Steve Davies Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 F-8C wing failure at the fold mechanism, in case anyone was interested. 7
Vito Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Would a pilot/crew who ejected out of an F-111 "crew capsule" qualify for the Martin Baker recognition tie and number? Not sure if the F-111 pod was built by Martin Baker Edited April 3, 2015 by Vito

Not sure if the F-111 pod was built by Martin Baker Unfortunately not - the F-111's crews escape module was built by McDonell Aircraft under contract for GD.
HuggyU2 Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Steve, Didn't the early prototypes have Douglas seats? I doubt those were M-Bs. Edited April 3, 2015 by Huggyu2
Steve Davies Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Yeah, Huggy. ESCPAC (sp?) seats, made by Douglas.
MD Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) Yeah, Huggy. ESCPAC (sp?) seats, made by Douglas. ESCAPAC. Same seat in the A-10 prior to the ACES; as well as a host of other aircraft. Edited April 4, 2015 by MD
moosepileit Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Anyone big on watch collecting here, in M-B seats, just start to find it difficult finding GIBs that will fly with them?
HuggyU2 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Anyone big on watch collecting here, in M-B seats, just start to find it difficult finding GIBs that will fly with them? What?
Day Man Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 What? I speak jive... "Are there any watch aficionados (that fly in Martin-Baker equipped aircraft) who encounter crewmembers who are hesitant to fly with them.?" 5
Kenny Powers Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I speak jive... "Are there any watch aficionados (that fly in Martin-Baker equipped aircraft) who encounter crewmembers who are hesitant to fly with them.?" What?
pcola Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I, too, speak jive. Paraphrased translation: If you are a watch collector and fly on a MB equipped aircraft, are dudes afraid to fly with you for fear that you might eject in order to qualify for the special watch?
SurelySerious Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I, too, speak jive. Paraphrased translation: If you are a watch collector and fly on a MB equipped aircraft, are dudes afraid to fly with you for fear that you might eject in order to qualify for the special watch? If that's the concern, I hope they're concerned said individual is insane first.
BUSTED Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 If that's the concern, I hope they're concerned said individual is insane first. I don't speak jive, but I do have a three year old, so I'm skilled at interpreting poorly worded questions... And I think the first attempt was a joke.
sky_king Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I speak Jive and Caveman, let me translate: Me like watches. Me have friend. Friend scared fly with me. Friend no want eject so me get watch. 3
moosepileit Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Mongo just pawn in game of Jive translations. Bravo, thanks! Edited April 6, 2015 by moosepileit
Spur38 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Awesome of Jimmy! When I was shot down in my AH-1 Cobra, (no ejection system or parachutes) I bought my self a Rolex in Hong Kong for $135! Biggest mistake was not buying a box car full of them considering today's prices!
