"what do you want to be when you grow up" 

"a Youtuber"

Sad how in my generation the response would have been

"an astronaut, doctor, fighter pilot, an army man"

Achievers are still out there.

My kid is a junior in high school and wants to be a fighter pilot (god help me).  I've taken his circle of friends camping a bunch and I always ask what they want to do when they grow up, through the years they have remained constant once they got off the NASCAR driver football player track.  Two want to be military officers (one of those a military doctor), one a computer programmer (making games), one can already weld like a pro and he wants to be a heavy equipment operator, the last one wants to design rockets for SpaceX.  Three play football and the others run cross country. 

Here is the really surprising part to me, my son is all AP and honors with a 4.43 GPA but there are 41 kids with higher GPA's above him out of 650+ in his year group.  Have any of you looked at how hard it is to get into some Universities these days?  Average GPA at some of the big Florida schools: U of Florida - 4.41, Florida State University - 4.07, UCF - 4.05, U of Miami 3.6 (unweighted). 

There are achievers in the next generation, don't believe the hype.

Youtuber is the current Artist.  The difference is now days these artists can make ALOT of money if they are good at it.  Nothing has changed.

Agreed. Between just my two kids one wants to be a clinical psychologist and the other wants to be Cookie Monster, so I think the future is bright.

The future shrink is in middle school and is well on the way to achieving her dreams, while the Cookie Monster one is only 14 months old, so she's got time to trim her sails into something a bit less glamorous and wildly successful. 😆

I've only met a couple kids like this.  In every case the parents are completely disengaged.  This is why I laugh when older generations hate on younger generations, as if they had no hand at all in how those kids turned out.

We don't have a lazy kid problem.  We have a lazy parent problem.

I'm with the rest of you gents.  A kid in high school, and one in middle school.  They both have their plans pretty well wired.  It's awesome to see.

The National Archives which went to great lengths punish the Orange man sat on a FOIA request for 14 months since admitting they have nearly 5400 emails then Vice President sent using multiple pseudonym accounts (Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters and JRB Ware), on government servers.  14 months after acknowledging they have the emails they have yet to produce a single email in violation of federal law.

Pivot back to Trump?

There may be a few MAGA hardliners here but most of the conservatives on here are moderates who have repeatedly said we don't like or want Trump.  Sadly, it looks as if we are going to have him as the GOP nominee.

Begrudgingly I hear a few DNC folks admit Biden is mentally deficient but rarely does your side admit the far left DNC is just as bad as the Proud Boys...and your mainstream leaders like the Clintons are drifting ever closer to Communism. 

I will however give Bill some props for coming out last week admitting the border is in crisis and now magically Biden wants to build a wall.  Those props are limited because he did it for political reasons, trying to save Biden, rather than stop the invasion at our border.
