Neat. So he might have a problem getting briefs as a candidate.

Plus the room elephant that he probably made a deal for the money.  I wonder what it was...  pardons?  table seats?  Ambassadorships?  Favorable judges in the right spot?  Blagojevich did jail time for that kinda shit.

When 30ish legitimate money institutions say no, and fuck no, then some dude that thrived off shady shit steps in, I can draw some thoughts off that.

Spot on bro, the nerve of this Trump guy running against Biden!  I'd guess he made a deal with Russia about something too; we should charge him with a crime, then RICO anyone who ever worked for him.

By this yardstick, 4 of our past 5 presidents were completely corrupt.  Care to provide your way forward out of this problem?

Probably.  Vote for someone not named Trump or Biden.

Nerve? He ain't doing this to save you from Biden.  He want to be bigly again and do whatever the fuck the wants.  That is why he loves Putin, dictator for life.  He wants that.

I didn't say Russia, I said sleazy payday loan shark, you know, the kind that often prey on the young enlisted folks.

We?

What's next, companies and billionaires are going to just *give* money to candidates in the hope they will get special consideration should the candidate win? Wait no, it's different because it's a PAC or campaign donation, right?

You guys are trying too hard.

Ex-ESPN host reveals ‘every single question’ in Biden interview was ‘scripted’ by network execs

“It was very much ‘This is what you will ask. This is how you will say it. No follow-ups, no follow-ups. Next,'” Steele told Fox, adding that each question was “gone over dozens of times by many editors and executives.”

“I was told, ‘You will say every word that we write out, you will not deviate from the script,’” she said.

Imagine a world where Trump won in 2020: The economy would have done...probably the same things it has done, with a little difference accounting for NOT locking down domestic oil production.  Putin would still be putin and probably invaded...and we'd never have had to deal with Biden and we'd be 8 MONTHS AWAY FROM NEVER HEARING TRUMP'S NAME AGAIN.  If Trump loses, guess what, we'll get to hear his name for the NEXT FOUR F'ING YEARS AGAIN!   Not to mention deal with the ossification of policy and retardation that Biden's admin (let's admit it, Biden doesn't do a damn thing, his admin does everything).   Please for the love of pete, can we just elect trump so we can get this F'ing pain over with already?

Not a fan of Trump, but there is no way you can convince me the last four years under Biden were better!

Had Trump won, our economy would most likely be doing better, our foreign and domestic policies been more focused on important things than wokeness and transgender recognition, and honestly I believe most Americans would have a lot more pride in this country!

The fact that Biden even won (if he even did!) and pretty much every action he has taken over the past four years has been a major embarrassment to the US.

This has got to be the largest amount of horseshit claims I've ever seen in my life, and I did 25 years in the USAF!

The Biden-Harris Record | The White House

Does the White House really think everyone is so stupid to believe all that?!?

Again, I would prefer a different candidate to vote for, one more along the lines of Reagan in the 80s; but once again we are stuck between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich.

South Park on X: "Giant Douche or Turd Sandwich? https://t.co/UI8HG7A2nf" / X

I for one would rather endure the Giant Douche then to spend another four years having a Turd Sandwich shoved down our throats!

100% agree that our economy, domestic, and foreign policy would have been stronger...not to mention possibly having, oh, I don't know...a secure border.   But I'm sure there would have been a totally different set of down sides to deal with.  Every administration sucks at something.  Some (meaning the current one) more than others.

As for that list of 'accomplishments' the fact they put "Lowering Costs of Families' Everyday Expenses" at the top of it tells you all you need to know: It's complete bullshit.  Notice the complete lack of reference to immigration or border security on that list?

There are things this admin has done well: For example the Chip Act.

There are lot more it's done poorly.  My point is that we have no idea what Trump would have jacked up and done well in a second term.  Any conjecture on that plane is exactly that: conjecture.  We DO know that had he won, we'd almost be done with hearing his name ever mentioned again in the press, and we'd have avoided the trainwreck that has been Biden.  I PROMISE you that when Biden wins again, we'll hear nothing but "Trump's fault" for another 4 years, not to mention the "Trump 2028" crowd who won't shut up until that moron is dead.

If Biden wins, I'll be hanging it up concerning general elections until Trump is dead or he actually opts out of running.

I'm talking about the figurative kind, you know, the weak, the got no guts, type.  That kind.

PS. I don't want either of them in office in case you mix my vitriol for duchebag T with a desire for Biden, whom I hold in similar distaste.

I didn’t say anything about Biden.  Just that Trump knows that only women have pussies whereas it seems everybody on the left says that men with dicks can be women.  So if it’s between Biden and Trump, I’ll vote for the one that understands basic anatomy.  That all being said, RFK Jr does make some interesting and compelling points on some issues.

Ok, seems I gotta spell it out for the folks in the room here.  Years ago, Trump say, all you gotta do is grab em by the pussy.  Its a control thing.  He has done that to a large majority of the republic party, politicians and voters alike.  For the politicians that know better but go along with trump they are weak ass pussies, weaklings, and spineless turds that won't stand against him.  For the maga voters, same shit.

My analogy has nothing to do with DEI, it's purely a figurative statement to say, today, most Republicans are weak, and Trump has grabbed by their weak ass pussy.

There, does that make more sense?

I can’t think of anything more weak than a president who has to use the baby steps into Air Force one, has to be pumped up with uppers to deliver speeches, and who only makes the decisions/takes questions that are approved by his handlers.

For those who say the President has no say in the price of gas/fossil fuels.  Thanks Biden.

“Minimum lease bonds will soar to $150,000 under the new rules from $10,000 -- a level unchanged since 1960.

Royalty rates will rise to 16.67% from 12.5%, and the minimum amount companies can bid at oil and gas auctions will increase to $10 an acre from $2. The rental rate for a 10-year lease will double to $3 an acre for the first two years, eventually rising to $15 per acre in the final years. The fees can be adjusted for inflation after 10 years.”

The dumber point of this is that higher costs to oil and natural gas on federal land will predominantly affect offshore production.  And the rapid expansion capability within the US system is private land fracking.

So this move is really just incentivizing increased investment into/growth of fracking.

The royalties may mean actual money… everything else is budget dust to budget dust. The lease bond is returned after conclusion of the lease, unless there’s an issue—then it becomes budget dust on the insurer’s books.

Probably won’t make gas cheaper, but once the dust settles it likely won’t have a meaningful impact.

Except, as bus driver pointed out: Incentivizing extracting the same product in places where the Public has less of a stake.

This is a nothingburger.

Edit: Did a little more research. Lease bond isn’t returned. It’s a mechanism to keep the riff-raff out. Rest remains.

There are several different threads I could post this, but since this one has been quiet lately, here it goes:

So the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, the main agency advising Biden on economic policy, doesn’t really understand how the government borrows its own money.
