FitTriGuy Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I am currently at UPT and we had someone on active duty get hurt and have to be pushed back a few classes until they healed and could get off DNF. It got me thinking, as a guard guy,u how something like that would affect me if I got on a long term DNF status. Would my orders be suspended until I healed? If so, how would that affect my access to medical treatment and TriCare? Obviously I'm new to the guard and flying so any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
JarheadBoom Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 As a Guardsman/Reservist on long-tour orders, if you get hurt while on orders and it's determined to be a Line Of Duty injury (VERY IMPORTANT), you'll stay on orders until you're healed. 1
matmacwc Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 What he said, and if you're on orders for more than 30 days before you get hurt they CANNOT take you off orders. 1
SocialD Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I was unfortunate enough to have to spend an extra 6-9 months at UPT due to a medical issue. I just stayed put until I was was healed, then was placed into the class that was close to the point where I went DNIF. 1
FitTriGuy Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 Thanks for all of the info. Hopefully nothing happens to me where I'll have to worry about all that but it's good to know I went get thrown to the curb if I get hurt or sick.
RunningMan Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Fit tri guy......what's your Ironman or triathlon PR? Off topic I know.
