RIOMAR89 Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 I am 28, applying to as many ANG UPT boards as possible. TBAS 57, 82 Flight Hours with PPL. AFOQT 78 pilot GPA 3.35 BS in Global Business, Arizona State. Looking C130 units or KC135. What are my chances? 1
jspace17 Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Your scores could probably be a bit higher. I'd recommend studying and trying to retake the AFOQT and TBAS. ANG UPT slots are a little more competitive from what I hear but don't get discouraged. Don't let what I say stop you from applying as you're nearing the age cutoff but blow the interview out of the water and you still stand a solid chance

Don't self disqualify and apply to as many units as possible, let them decide if your numbers are too low. Time is your biggest enemy, and in my experience many units did not want to explore age waivers. I was 28 when I was eligible to apply, and my options were limited because of that. Your scores aren't blowing me out of the water but they aren't bad by any means. Good luck!
RunningMan Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Scores could be better but it is still very possible to get hired with your current stats. Retake and try to do better. If not, roll on and hope for the best. FYI, I got a slot with worse scores but a better GPA.
GlassEmpty Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I got in with worse. You're fine man. If they say no they'd tell you why anyway. There are plenty of units in your neck of the woods. Get your apps in and rush the unit. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 3
tk1313 Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 (edited) Make them tell you no (like the guy above me said, they will tell you why). Only thing I would recommend is to retake that AFOQT. You can get the pilot score in the 90's if you study hard, and that will bring your PCSM up. In the meantime keep applying to every unit you can. Good luck! Edited May 28, 2017 by tk1313 1
