The issue with the A-380 in the Cargo world (Fed-Ex/Ups) was twofold. It was going to take many years for Airbus to develope the freighter version, and the added weight of strengthening the floors to handle cargo made the jet unprofitable. A 777 Or MD-11 was a lot more profitable. Also the specialized equipment for loading a double decker was problematic too.

Heard something similar to that also, that an upper deck was not cargo conducive and would have probably ended up as wasted space

With 6th gen being the new hotness…
GCAP model

I guess when the GCAP nations briefed the US military high ups on their hopeful glossy brochure version of GCAP, people had to contain their laughs from a source.

Not 6th gen…5th at best and doubtful it will exceed the F-35 after upgrades in anything except cost.

Remember these people developed the 4th gen EF2K while we made the F-22.

1x generation behind. They can’t define 6 gen

God bless them for trying though.

IDK, if you really think your ass is on the line you can get better at something really fast.  Now that might cause a guns vs butter debate that I think would be hard to persuade their people that it’s time to really rearm and invest in defense but here’s hoping that they would

I guess that could spur a philosophical debate, do they (our allies) need that level of capability as that level is really there to give us the option to prosecute the attack, to take the offensive.  Do they need to be able to do that?

Maybe they can develop something relevant in the 2030 fight, concept son of Rafael
