ImNotARobot Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Not a firing but it sounds like the military lost a good one this time around. Col. Bode of 959th Med Ops Squadron, JBSA resigns the day before change of command stating in an official letter "leaders throughout the chain of command were aware and did nothing to stop illegal, immoral and unethical actions." https:// https://news.yahoo.com/military-investigating-possible-dysfunction-texas-152330084.html

I don't know the guy but it seems a bit weird to make a video praising what a good commander you're going to be.

Apparently this is related to a security incident 1-2 months ago and the wings reaction to it. If I recall, it's related to amn/nco/snco publishing some flight line footage of a damaged aircraft but I can't find the complete post trail.

It’s hard to tell if the amn/nco/snco page is for or against the Col, but it’s a fun read regardless.

I'm not bashing the dude. Just an observation from an outsider looking in. I don't remember watching incoming WG/CC videos though.
brabus Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Seems like a standard PA video where they probably think they nailed it while everyone else cringes. I wouldn’t put too much of it on him. Too bad to hear, second firing down there this year.

I can't imagine it's a good time to be a commander. At least we had deployments to escape the queep. Too many people hanging around the squadron can't be that much fun. I want to go on those.. The most queep and E-8/E-9 debaucherry I ever faced was downrange. 1
Biff_T Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Touche. I guess it was easier for me to not care while deployed.

Just have to be somewhere bad enough that nobody wants to come "visit". 1 1

You lose the “good dude back then” credit the second you pin on O6. after those eagles come on it’s “fuck him” until proven otherwise. seen way too many “good dudes” become toxic fucks once they make rank. 2

Rank/power doesn’t change someone, it exposes them. If they are toxic as an O-6 then they were toxic before, it’s just no one noticed. 1 2
BashiChuni Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 Eh, I’ve definitely seen it change people. Power does indeed corrupt. 1

I think it's far more common that these assholes are toxic way back as captains. It's rare that someone's entire personality changes when they are put in a position of power. Rather, they no longer have to hide the toxicity from they're peers/bosses.

Lord Ratner Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 Age of consent in Nevada is 16... Might be different in UCMJ, but if the local cops are prosecuting I think the civilian law applies.

Even if that's legal, you're still a fuckhead if you're in you're early 40s sleeping around with teenagers. 1 6
