Curtiss JN-4 Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 I am going to visit a unit soon and would like to know some do and don't during the visit as well as what to wear and bring along with me. Thank you in advance for any advice.
Stoker Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 I'd probably wear a pair of khakis and a button down shirt or polo. Not too casual, not to formal (unless it's a meet-and-greet as part of an interview, definitely wear a suit for the interview). Some people bring a bottle of liquor as a gift / compensation for putting up with your questions all day. Seems to be more of a thing in fighter squadrons, and definitely not mandatory or even beneficial in all cases. 1
TX dude Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Try to talk to as many people as possible while you're there. If they invite you to go out with them after hanging at the squadron, definitely go. And it sounds cliche, but just be yourself. I'm pretty sure most people will notice if you're "putting on". Have fun, don't sweat it, and I hope it works out. 1
