jazzdude Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 That’s not how it works. The expenses reduce the taxable amount, you’re not reimbursed the expense cost outright. Without weight tickets there is no amount to be paid and then deduct expenses from. You can claim unreimbursed moving expenses (above what the gov reimbursed you for) on your taxes. Generally you're right though, a DITY move reimburses above what your moving expenses were, so like you said, your reducing the taxable amount of the dity incentive.
