Anyone know the specifics on how this works as a Traditional DSG? How many points can you pull a year?

Anyone know who to contact to get the ball rolling?

Thanks dudes!

You could theoretically get 20-30 additional points pretty easy.  BUT...

Because it's a Reserve job, it's a massive - maybe even unworkable - pain as a DSG.  UTAPS doesn't talk to the Guard MPF systems and apparently even manually handing in 40As didn't seem to work.  I've known two people that tried PIRR programs as DSG and neither got any points for their efforts.  One DSG gave it up and one is still doing it for zero credit.

If you crack the code, let everyone here know because it's a known issue unless you're already a Reservist.

USAFA is currently hiring both Additional Duty and Primary Duty officers for the Admissions Liaison Officer program.  I know the civilian hiring environment has changed drastically in the last 9 months, but figured an update post on the program might be helpful for those interested.

Additional Duty is just like it sounds.  If you're Guard, Reserve, Active Duty or Retired you can work as an ALO on the side and get points toward retirement (sorry AD and Retired guys/girls, you don't get credit).

Primary Duty officers are members of the PIRR as Cat E Reservists.  You only earn points to retirement and there are VERY few opportunities for orders and pay and there is no TriCare coverage.

You do not need to be an Academy grad to be an ALO and we deal with both USAFA and ROTC (on a more limited basis) candidates.  It's a good part time gig that you can do on your own time and allows you to help mentor the next generation without having to worry about deployments or planning the annual Christmas party.  We do still have to do OPRs, PT tests and cyberawareness training to name a few.

The link below has additional information on the program as well as a questionnaire that goes to the hiring team to help determine your eligibility for the program.
