Very few countries are morbidly obese like the US as well as those countries that are that obese don’t have any where close to the population we do. It’s an underlying problem that causes so many health issues that doesn’t help with recovering from a sickness. Let alone covid.

Just like those who in June 2020 told people to stay home when able, avoid large gatherings, etc to stop the spread of covid…unless it’s for a BLM protest, then it’s ok.  Please excuse my skepticism that obviously clearly isn’t warranted.  I’m sure there will be crickets from those on the left.

It is unreal how many Americans have lost all concept of the constitution, basic American/human rights, and are hell bent on dehumanizing fellow Americans who don’t have the same viewpoint as them. They make excuses for themselves to justify their abhorrent behavior. How about accept this is a free country and you will disagree with others, but you should be able to do so while treating them as a neighbor and not as a piece of valueless trash. - Zero fucks given for 1st Amendment: “Nearly half (48%) of Democratic voters think federal and state governments should be able to fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications.” 

- Take freedom from others, but not from me (because I’m…insert excuse to justify horrible actions): “Forty-five percent (45%) of Democrats would favor governments requiring citizens to temporarily live in designated facilities or locations if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine.”

- Taking your kids away because I don’t agree with you: “Twenty-nine percent (29%) of Democratic voters would support temporarily removing parents’ custody of their children if parents refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine.”

I wonder if they have any idea that minorities have a lower vaccination rate than whitey.

We're already seeing the wedges in places like NYC, where a restaurant was called racist for enforcing the vaccine mandate and refusing service to three black women.

I don’t believe they’ve connected those dots (or several other dots). It’s all about frothing-at-the-mouth outrage and separating people into worthy and unworthy groups - logic, laws, respect, and history be damned.

I wish that survey had broken out responses by gender.

Unpopular opinion, but when I see any online discussion of Covid where the respondent's gender is identified, it's always the females who are the most adamant about damning the unvaxxed to the pits of hell.  Reasoned or nuanced discussion be damned.

That's been the vulnerability of the progressive/socialist/Marxist movement for decades. The philosophy of "do what we say and we'll reach utopia together" always crashes into the inescapable conflict of the people they (the elite) are trying to save (the proletariat) not wanting to follow the orders meant to save them.

Per multiple news sources, https://www.covidtests.gov/ is now live, allowing Americans to order up to four at-home Covid tests per household.

President Biden has ordered 500 million tests, with a follow-on order for another 500 million.

So, it sounds like the intent is to more or less flood the country with at-home tests.  Couple thoughts:

- All of the testing will drive the case counts into the stratosphere.

- With all of the tests out there, will mandates start to include proof of a negative test in order to work/dine out/etc?

Ha!  Just ordered mine about 2 hrs ago.  USPS emailed and will send tracking no end Jan for an "expected" ship time.  Can't wait to see how this shit show plays out.

Our tax dollars at work in this morass of fraud, waste, and abuse. I could have countenanced them supplying tests in early autumn, ahead of the expected winter surge (omicron variant or otherwise), but this seems like too little too late and just a blatant play to score political points.
