Good Day to all!

First off, I'd like to say this site is awesome. I've seen some great advice given through the topics I've read and continue to read. After reviewing the previous threads on the topic of age waivers I've decided to still post my question. I did find a few answers through the search function but I'd like to get some advice on my specific situation. I'm currently 35 years of age and planning on going back to school to finish my BA in General Studies. I know it's not the coolest degree to get a BA in but it is the quickest I've seen and time is of the essence here. I know some say a degree is a degree and I would have to agree with them on this. I have 2 years of college already behind me and have obtained my PPL with Instrument rating and around 240 hours of flight time. I plan on finishing my CPL before I graduate. Additionally, I served in the Marine Corps Reserve for 9 years and was honorably discharged 2 years ago as an E-5. To add to all of this I am planning on getting WFG-PRK or WFG-LASIK in the next 6 months to a year so I'll need a waiver for that as well. I am also currently studying to take the AFOQT and plan to take the TBAS a few weeks after. My questions is, with the prior service and flight experience do I have a shot at getting a slot with either the AD or Reserve/ Guard at my age? Regardless of what others say I will still make an effort and "Make them tell me no" as this is my last shot at achieving something most people only dream of and I cannot live with myself if I didn't at least try. I appreciate any and all input. Thanks!

Welcome, Marine.

Have you considered Army WOFT? Given you being two years away from a degree @ 35 years old you're facing an uphill battle. You are prior service, have two years of College and have the flight time/rating boxes checked so where you stand today (with great SIFT score) perhaps you'd be competitive for that? Worth considering, IMO.

I'm sure more credible people than me will chime in, make em tell you no is my plan also.

Good luck
