green_blue_pilot Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 I am a prior Army Aviator that is currently in the Air National Guard in an O-5 non-flying position. I haven't flown for several years and would like to get back into the cockpit in the ANG or AFRES. My options are limited to only vertical lift, since big USAF killed the Fixed Wing Qualification Program in 2012. I am searching for any suggestions.
CharlieHotel47 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Very limited options out there... use the link below and search for HH60 squadrons. https://bogidope.com/squadron-airline-map/Or go Army Guard, revert to a warrant, tell war stories to the young guys while drinking coffee. bronxbomber252 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 For HH-60 CSAR units there are 2 reserve (Patrick AFB and Davis-Monthan AFB), and 3 Guard ( Gabreski field Long Island NY, Moffett CA, and Elmendorf AK)Don’t know much about other guard/reserve rotary wing units but I imagine there are some UH-1 units out there.
green_blue_pilot Posted May 15, 2020 Author Posted May 15, 2020 Yeah...I was originally a C-130 Navigator then resigned my commission in 2008 to become a Warrant Officer. I have those war stories to tell already. One combat tour in AFG for a 1 year was enough for me. I rather fly blue.
