sliderstinks12 Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 30 year old male. What would be chances of applying for a guard or reserve spot if disenrolled from ROTC > 10 years ago. I currently am a CFI/II/MEI with hundreds of flight hours and fly helicopters, airplanes and gliders. I am in a profession that required graduate school and am burnt out. Flying is my real passion. I can get many strong references. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sliderstinks12 Posted October 30, 2022 Author Posted October 30, 2022 Was given a 5 on form “do not recommend for service”. In light of this, I have a successful career and advanced degrees, won awards for professionalism, and overcame my weaknesses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The detailed “why” will absolutely be asked in an interview, so if you don’t want to put it out on the internet, then at least be prepared to answer the mail to an interview board. A 5 is no joke and I sense caginess in you, bro. I wouldn't hire you. Hopefully you'll be more forthcoming with an interview board. With a 5 on DD785 you'll need a waiver at the very least.
TheNewGazmo Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 The devil is in the details. Definitely have a legit explanation (ie - don't BS them). Anything is possible. We have hired people with a DUI.Sent from my SM-F721U using Tapatalk
