Haha.

You guys lost that game to VT. You and everyone who saw that last play know it.

Longest official review I’ve ever seen, unbelievable they overturned it.

Congrats on being “5-0.” Bet the mood down south has soured a bit after this recent performance knowing how they perform against any team with even a bit of talent.

Will be rooting for Clemson to beat you since we probably can’t. 😂

1.  The was NOT a catch.  The ball was moving and did not survive contact with the ground, it was clear to me but see #2.

2.  I don't think there was enough on video to overturn.

3.  The ACC has a different assessment.  ACC statement on final play: "During the review process of the last play of the Virginia Tech at Miami game, it was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds which makes it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the play."

4.  Keep in mind, it was not just the ref that made the call, they have a "Review Center" in NY and a lot of people came to that decision.

5.  PLEASE root for Clemson, just like I will continue to root for the FSU program to burn down to it's rotten core.  🙂

6.  Cam Ward is the real deal, he had some rough spots but the dude is ice under pressure and fun to watch.

7.  If you think the reviewed play was the only F'd up call, you would be wrong.  VT's long field goal should NOT have counted, the refs missed two #17's on the field at the same time.  The Kicker and third guy from the right.

Virginia-Tech-field-goal-penalty.png

8.   One game at a time, but for now....Miami is undefeated.

There was also a bs holding call that brought back a TD at the end of 3rd qtr. The Game Day guys, especially Saban, were all over it this morning.

And there was not enough video evidence to overturn the call on the field.

The overturn against VT and the “offsides” against Minnesota on their onside kick today sure makes you wonder what kind of money and pressure gets applied behind the scenes.  It’s no secret there would be a huge incentive to keep Miami undefeated and keep Michigan ranked.

For the VT play specifically, there was simply no evidence to overturn the call on the field. Had it been called incomplete on the field there also likely wouldn’t have been enough evidence to make it a catch. But the call on the field was a TD, and there was not a single shot clearly and irrefutably showing it wasn’t a catch. It doesn’t take 10 minutes to find clear and obvious proof it wasn’t a catch. The only people who think that was the right call are Miami and UVA fans.

And FSU in a complete freefall, @ 1-4.  Hey ACC, cave on the lawsuit and let them go.

The Ga v Alabama game had an epic ending.

That screenshot is from long after the chaos where you can’t tell exactly what happened. As you said yourself:

Yeah, the command center is headed by Alberto Riveron, the ACC’s supervisor of officials, who is a lifelong Miami resident.

Ball is CLEARLY moving as he hits the ground, you MUST retain control through contact with the ground.  If the ball was moving and it is touched by a player that is out of bounds, the play is over.

Dear god...so because he lives in Miami, he shaped it for Miami to win?  Dude has been in the job since 2022, why wasn't he helping us sooner?

You can’t even see the ball for the first half of that video. All that video proves is what literally every other person, other than ACC higher ups and Miami fans, have said over and over…that there was zero indisputable video evidence to overturn that call since it was called a TD on the field. You even said that yourself!

The fact that we are still discussing this, and that it took over 6 minutes for them to decide proves that it was not indisputable.

You see the ball at impact with ground, and it is moving.

I didn't say there was "zero indisputable evidence", I said there was not enough to overturn it.

Regardless, it was not a catch and a wrong call was corrected which is all the matters in the end.

Scoreboard.

It certainly was another wild weekend of college football!   I’m grateful for the opportunity to fight about something other than politics, amongst friends, for a little while. My money says half of the playoff teams are going to be from the SEC…At least they should be.

That was targeting. This is bullshit. What the fuck is going on that is trying to allow miami to keep winning?

ACC HQ rigs another one for Miami. Clear targeting, textbook in fact, goes to review, uncalled. Miami gets the ball back and goes down and scores.

I’d rather see SEC schools beating up on each other in the playoffs. Let me guess, you’re a Notre Dame fan?

I am not saying it doesn't happen, but in this case I HIGHLY doubt it.  Not because I am a biased Miami fan but because the Referee from that game is a friend of mine.  In life and business he is truly one of the most ethical guys I know, he has actually been recognized for it in the company we both work for.  Aside from that call, I heard the commentators talking about a general theme in college refereeing this year, a focus on trying to get to the right outcome rather than always have "indisputable evidence."  While I want them to get to the right call, it can't be arbitrary...there will probably be changes after this season.

Does it really matter, the SEC bias is going to put as many SEC teams in the playoff as possible.  We will see at 1300 but the poll projections have Alabama and Georgia in the top five, above undefeated Miami.  I get it, Alabama had a quality win against Georgia, but they lost to Vanderbilt...who was 2-2 and until last night, was 0-60 against top 5 opponents, let alone a #1.  Somehow that is not a bad enough loss to drop them below several undefeated teams.  Gimme a freaking break.

I wish!....would have slipped him some cash to put us up early and save me the cardiac stress.

I honestly didn't know he was refereeing that game until I saw the first penalty.
