But most of the assistant coaches with the exception of Surtain, our DB coach, should be fired. December will be interesting to see what happens with the staff. They just finished paying Taggert....I wish someone would pay me $30M to NOT be their coach. 18 hours ago, Boomer6 said: Fairly certain they played Tennessee 🤔 Correct, got excited seeing both Alabama and OSU get beat. Not to worry, ESPN and ABS will find a way to keep 6 SEC multi-loss teams in the playoff.

Florida State’s loss to Duke means the 1-6 Seminoles must win out to avoid missing a bowl for 4th time in last 7 seasons. Remaining games: At Miami UNC At Notre Dame Charleston Southern Florida

You should take Charleston Southern, who is currently 1-6 as well; but they have been playing tough against a challenging schedule. Still, the Seminoles should win this one being it's at home. Notre Dame (6-1)? Nope. UNC (3-4)? Maybe? UF (4-3)? We will go into that game pretty beat up. We lost our starting quarterback (Graham Mertz) but DJ Lagway looked pretty good for a freshman quarterback against Kentucky (3-4). But we still have to play Georgia (6-1) in Jacksonville on 2 Nov, Texas (6-1) in Austin on 9 Nov, LSU (6-1) at home 16 Nov, Ole Miss (5-1) at home 23 Nov, then y'all (1-6) in Tallahassee on 30 Nov. We were considered to have the toughest schedule in college football this year, with eight games against preseason top 25 teams. We'll be lucky to beat y'all, especially being it's a home game for you which makes things even tougher! Since 1958, we are 37-28 with two ties against FSU; but y'all have won the last two years. Predictions are FSU has an 82% chance of winning, by an expected score of 37-20. 🤬🤬

I think we have 9 or 10 TDs on the year, one of those being a kick return. But I'll take anything positive for the Seminoles this year. I'll say Luke Kromenhoek did look pretty solid in his first CFB showing as a true freshman. He had two dimes that would have been TDs if his receivers had caught the ball. I just want to finish the season knowing what QB is going to start in '25 and replace all of our offensive assistant coaches and bring in an O coordinator who will put in place his own system. I think Norvell got fortunate with Jordan Travis who was able to hide a lot of his offensive system's flaws. Here is to hoping we don't get savaged by Miami this Saturday. 😆 2

The game was closer than the final score, FSU found a way to pressure Cam with a series of Zone Blitzes...it worked and I hope we fix it in practice. What FSU could not stop was the run and it cost them. Miami running back Fletcher lost his father this week when he died unexpectedly, he honored his dad with an unreal performance. I was surprised at how civil both teams were given the rivalry...yes there was some back and forth but in between plays I saw a lot of shaking hands and laughing, especially in the secondary. There was a point in the second half went a FSU player went down hard and stayed down for a quiet a bit (they did not show the replay but I think he got knocked out). Most of the FSU players went down on one knee and the Miami players AND coaches quickly followed suit. Refreshing even in a rivalry game. FSU's QBs showed some grit, they are both going to be sore today. Minor gloating to follow - 2024 State Champs - The U! 1

Glad you were able to attend the game. Other than going to Pasadena for our last National Championship in '13 and us beating Florida in the swamp 38-34, some of my most memorable games I've attended were in the early 2000's against UM. I think we may be in for a long couple of years. All of our blue chip talent has decommitted. Some are asking if Deion might be an answer to at least attract some talent. No opinion on that but clearly we need something to change.

O Face Posted November 10 Author Posted November 10 After today’s games it’s perfectly obvious…We have absolutely no clue who is going to be this year’s Nat Champs. Hell, at this rate it might be Army (joking). This has been a fun season to watch. 1

VMFA187 Posted November 19 Posted November 19 (edited) You don't have to tell me, I know. Had a buddy who was ecstatic that we were able to keep Norvell when 'Bama was shopping last off-season tell me - "I hope we lose to Charleston Southern this week so CMN gets fired." What a time to be alive! Edited November 19 by VMFA187 1
ClearedHot Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Great day of football if you watched it. One thing is certain, the SEC as a whole is overrated and they shredded themselves yesterday The Gators are out of their funk, they looked stout as they stopped Ole Miss and ended their chances of making the CFP. Indiana was exposed. Auburn started red hot and went up 21-0, only to let A&M come back and take the lead. Epic finish as Auburn wins in the 4th OT. Miami got by Wake 41-14, the game was closer than it looked. Miami's defense played better but the offense was not clicking until very late. Penn State got LUCKY and squeaked by the Gophers by one point. And my favorite game, Alabama got PUNKED by a mediocre Oklahoma team that ran all over them while holding the tide to a single field goal. No doubt the ESPN/ABC SEC homers will be working hard to justify five three loss SEC teams in the playoff.
nunya Posted November 24 Posted November 24 (edited) 43 minutes ago, ClearedHot said: One thing is certain, the SEC as a whole is overrated and they shredded themselves yesterday Seems anecdotal. SEC is 10-5 against non-conference this year. No other conference has a non-conference record even close. Four ACC v SEC games coming up in a week. SEC probably goes 3-1, making them 13-6 for the year against non-conference. I think that's convincing enough to underweight their conference losses when picking playoff teams.
