jorfy Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 First time applying this year! Was gonna try last year but my medical didn't get back from Wright-Patt in time. Kinda thankful though cause my scores last year definitely wouldn't have been competitive. Hoping for the best come January! 1
QUAG Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 We are one month closer to results being posted! if you can get it out of your cranium, you’ll be surprised how fast time goes! May you and your families have a Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year! 1

MysticEcho Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Hello. I am enlisted in the Air Force reserves now and planning to apply to UPT ANG/ AGR pilot boards this upcoming year. I scored 86 PCSM, 99 pilot, 86 CSO, 99 ABM, 93 AA, 86 Verbal, 93 Quantitative. I have my PPL and 60 hours. I’m going into my last semester at Purdue University. I’m hoping for any advice, mentorship, or interview prep tips. Thanks!

This is an active duty board, so our process is different from ANG/AGR. Solid scores though - PPL holds a lot of weight for Guard/Reserve. Good luck to you!
PewPewBoom Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Merry Christmas everyone! If anyone wants to drop the list as a Christmas gift, I wouldn't be upset 😉🇺🇲 1
QUAG Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 This time next month we will know! what bases did you list as your top preference and why? I was Sheppard, CAFB, VAFB, LAFB I want to fly fighters, Sheppard is the best place to do that! CAFB is close to family, VAFB seems less sucky than Del Rio by the sea.
coppy Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Boy oh boy this waiting game is grueling. Thanks for putting this page together, as I need a new outlet to talk to about this crossflow process as my wife is probably ready to go visit some family. LOL. I volunteered for ENJJPT, but I did not rank it as I would prefer going to the traditional UPT bases. I guess we'll see if they want me to go that route, but I doubt it with no PPL. I assume that is a factor for ENJJPT? Anyone's guess I'm sure. I went Vance, Laughlin, Columbus. Vance because that is where I was originally supposed to go to UPT before I got a surprise medical DQ a month before commissioning, and it is close to my wife's family. I went Columbus last because I am currently stationed in the deep south and wouldn't mind going somewhere new. This is my first time applying as I had to wait a year before I could apply for a waiver following my eye surgery. Hopefully I can make it all the way, but I am not holding my breath. My OPB and letters should be good, and somehow I was the only one in my Wing applying for the board. Supporting that is my 98 PCSM and 89 Pilot. I am a bit worried the pilot score will be a detriment, but I know where I can boost it as my quantitative score was pretty low. There is always next year! Good luck to everyone out there! 1

I am in a very similar boat this year. Only applicant at my Wg so 1/1 strat lol. 99 Pilot score, 94 PCSM with no PPL. I’m a MQ-9 Evaluator pilot with 700 combat hours and 1300 total hours. I’m hoping the board saw that and would take away that having a PPL adds little to me as a candidate. I set the expectation of 31 Jan, however it’s driving me nuts already. Making it to the end of this month is going to be a doozy! Im glad im not the only one suffering haha. 1

I emailed the board awhile back requesting data on scoring and they said "PCSM is only part of the aptitude score component which is 30% of the total score. Leadership is 40% and Adaptability/Potential is the other 30%. This leaves a lot of ground to cover. Definitely seems like an uphill battle for 2d Lt. Just trying to stay positive! I hope you had a great holiday season!

This is my first year applying for UFT as a CSO and I am in the same boat. I'm ashamed to admit that I've been checking our loss listing daily. I'm about to head off to SOS so that should help keep my mind off things.

DM me if you have questions about anything. I went from RPA to pilot a few boards ago.
coppy Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Is the general consensus that it is easier to get picked up from non-rated career fields? 1
QUAG Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 7 minutes ago, coppy said: Is the general consensus that it is easier to get picked up from non-rated career fields? It’s tough to say. 80% of the people from my career field get picked up. I think what helps rated to rated as a RPA dude is I have already been through DOSS, I’ve made it through T-6 and got an instrument rating from the AirForce. I don’t know what the non rated stats are. But I see a fair amount of non rated selected on the board results in years past. It could very well be 50/50.
Arkbird Posted January 9 Posted January 9 6 minutes ago, coppy said: Is the general consensus that it is easier to get picked up from non-rated career fields? 43/69 of last year's selects for pilot were already rated aircrew. 1

I guess the piece of information we would need is what the composition of the non-selects are.

GalPit Posted January 10 Posted January 10 If you look at the PSDM results of previous years there’s a column for AFSCs, info is there just not broken down
checkurwafer Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Bit of a long time lurker on here, hope everyone is doing well and hanging on for the final weeks. @rparsonsr2 Let me know if you have any questions regarding UCT, older CSO here.
