Ngl I was debating turning down ABM. Very glad I didn't after being offered the CSO slot. Things work out in the end!

Yay Congrats !!

Question for the group though, do the people getting dates have their full medical ? I still have to go through Wright Patt, I wonder if that's the hold up for some of us who haven't gotten dates yet.

I have a full stamped FC1. I skipped WPAFB because I did it when I commissioned 8 years ago. lol.

I have my full MFS. I went to Wright Patt for my FC1 so I did all the additional testing.

I know this is for the AD board, so i'll preface with saying im an AFRC UPT guy.

Anyone starting at Vance in August?

That's what we're all wondering my friend!

With how slow they have been being, I wouldn't be surprised to get dates on the 31st, lol

I wonder if folks are still getting put into the 2.5 classes. Apparently Laughlin is moving to IPT format this summer and Vance in the fall… but that is when people would in process at those bases from what I’ve been told. IPT is about 5 months long, so that would put the first T-6 IPT class at Laughlin starting around Jan 2026 and April-ish for Vance. There will certainly be classes starting between now and then following the old syllabus, so that leads me to believe quite a few of us will get the old syllabus.

Thoughts?

Since Columbus is already doing IPT would switching Laughlin and Vance over to the new IPT syllabus require that much overhead? I'm not sure how backed up or not IPT currently is but I wonder if they will add new locations for IPT to absorb the load a bit.

I personally put Vance as my #1 UPT base and I'm hoping I get Vance and a class start date before they switch over cause I really would rather do the legacy T-6 syllabus vs the new IPT syllabus.

This Thursday, the AETC A5/8 said END will begin sending all studs through the IPT pipeline starting this October (and that DLF will do the same starting in July). Because you already have your PPL, maybe you got lucky and snagged a spot in one of the final "legacy" T6 classes.

^ See my last, if you don't get a start date that's earlier than July / October you'll just have to do IPT. Gen Leard made an offhand comment during the above visit that "almost 100%" of FY2025 trainees will do IPT, and that maybe a few would "sneak in" on the legacy T6 syllabus.

LOL.

I emailed the Board the other day asking them if we should still expect to hear 31 Mar. They said yes. Looks like we'll probably start getting our assignments next week. Hopefully we all hear by next Friday.

I don't understand why the assignment process takes so long. Decision was made in November, there has been ample time to assign people to UPT. I'd really like to know if the hold up is medical related or class related. I'm under the impression that active duty accessions will have priority as we have age/ time on station/ etc. that should bump us higher on the priority list than ROTC/ OTS/ USAFA.

Anyone know if unmarried captains will be required to stay in the dorms at the UPT bases? I'm not trying to send my four legged beast to live with my folks for a year lol.

I am here at KDLF now. They do have separate Captains dorms that they initially say you are required to move into. However I know several people who got it waived and lived either off base or in base housing to have pets with them. Once you know which base, just work with the unaccompanied officer rep and they should be able to get it waived depending on current dorm capacity

I reached out to my ROTC detachment to ask when their guys and gals are leaving. They only had one UPT guy, he is showing up to Columbus the same day I am on 2 June.

I wonder if they are just filling a class, one at a time.

AD selects typically get filled faster than others because of the timeline and other things like potential promotions. But they don't have everything set up that far in advance. One the Board rack and stacks, it's up to AFPC to certify the results, get the amount of selects, and then get releases from the CFMs. Then they can release the results and start working with other parts of AFPC and AETA for PCS and class dates. It's a whole dance that we probably don't give them enough credit for.

Oh for sure, more or less a "Sport Bitch." I know there is a lot going on behind the scenes. Its just frustrating to have it come out in waves for some folks and last possible moments for others. looking forward to next week.

I understand. We had guys leaving for UPT in June and others leaving as far as February of the next year. I PCSd in September and started in November. Not sure how they even decide who starts first or anything like that.

Finally! Not sure what the code means though.

Pretty sure PV4 is the old syllabus. I assume VH is Vance and LJ is Laughlin
