Today was a huge day. Got my orders, house confirmed on base at Columbus and had my FINI flight!

Next stop CAFB!

6 June 2025 IPT go’ers what’s your lodging plan for the TDY, I was looking for Airbnbs and Vrbos in the Mesa/Gilbert/Chandler areas. Gonna call the transition flight and see if they allow that option for us.

I am also wondering about this. I am PCSing with spouse to Columbus, would be rough to leave her on her own for 4 months immediately after the move. Maybe some Mesa IPT goers ahead of us have gouge?

Are you going to be staying in the unaccompanied quarters? havent called to confirm, but I assumed thats what housing was going to look like unless we changed it and congrats on the FINI, still waiting on mine.

I’m in this class as well.

I know a guy who’s there right now. DM me or we can also start a group chat if you have specific questions.

If you don't have any dependents as a captain you can live in the unaccompanied housing (potentially with one roommate) or you can choose to live off base. That's why I did since my fiance was moving with me.

How can you tell where you’re going? My IPT dates are 27 June-23 November but all the courses have the same codes

Yes! I called to get on the list for base housing as soon as I got notified of my base. We got a CGO house pretty quick.

You’ll have to call your inbound student squadron. I called the CAFB STUS and they told me location.

Weird. Going to Columbus next month as well but when I called all they told me was where they think I’m going but didn’t know for sure

First time posting here!

I’m a civilian picked up by the ANG (so not sure if this is the best place to ask this question) but I received my dates a few days ago. Anyone know if this is the legacy T-6 syllabus or am I gonna have to do IPT? Seems a bit unclear but I also have no idea what is happening lol

Ya boy will be showing up in a FDU. I don’t think it’s deep enough to bring out blues lol.

Lol bold move!  Probably that will be fine if they are literally not telling us how they want us to show up

Actually that would make sense for the prior rated guys.

At Columbus they really don’t like people wearing flight suits while on casual. I believe the rules are you have to wear regular OCPs until 10 days out from class start date.

I'm assuming you already have your CAC. If you have a CAC reader at home, log into af.okta.mil and go to vMPF. Once in vMPF, click on career data brief (CDB). Scroll down to the 'Projected Assignment' section on the right. It should tell you there what course is loaded. Vance legacy is PV4AU.

Alternatively, call your unit's CSS and ask. With a UPT start of September as a civilian hire, you are likely going through the legacy syllabus. There's no way they could fit you in OTS, IPT, and then UPT in the span of 4 months.

I would assume it's the same for Columbus and Laughlin, but the Vance welcome packet says to report in OCPs. There's another part of the packet with all required uniform items: OCPs (2 sets), short sleeve blues, service dress, mess dress if you have it, and PTUs (2 sets)

For those going to Vance. I found a welcome doc and it has instructions on how you can access all the academics/study materials before you start.

"Study Material: Even prior to arriving at Vance AFB, you have the opportunity to begin your path towards wings. Once you have your orders, contact the Sponsor Hotline at 580-213-5129 or 580-213- 6396 with your name, email, and Report No Later Than Date (RNLTD) on your orders. In turn, you will be given the username and password to our Box.com site. There, you will find the study materials you to start" Vance Welcome Guide 1.2.pdf

Maybe other bases have a similar set up for study materials.
