I'm wondering if Gaetz's nomination is intentional distraction.  I think that could easily be something in Trump's playbook.  'Hey, everyone look at this bat-shit crazy nomination/draft executive order/mean-tweet over here while I quietly prep to cut the entire Department of Education'.

I’d put more money on it gets him out of that district in Florida since all he did was impede legislation and prevent any coalition. His only skill is causing chaos, not representing anyone. Without him in the House, might actually be able to make something happen. The tried and true Air Force way of firing by promoting.

Geez, hasn't he already resigned from Congress?  Talk about planning.

I'm positive this isn't anything unexpected.  Whether its a recess appt or something else.

Got any proof?  Because if DOJ could have nailed him on it I think they would have.
its unfortunate after all we’ve seen recently that an accusation is enough to condemn someone.

Most believe he resigned effective immediately to stop the House Ethics Investigation from being released.

Huh?  He has never been convicted of a crime.  The DOJ declined to prosecute after their investigation.  He was arrested in 2008 for DUI but was not convicted.

I knew I was not getting a far left progressive who was happy to take away the 1st and 2nd amendment, while paying for the sex changes of illegals and felons in prison all while cramming DEI up my ass.

so your price to abandon the constitution was as cheap as trump's...

ah yes...voting to prevent government censorship (violating the 1st amendment, something the biden administration has been CAUGHT doing) is "abandoning the constitution".

“If people go to only one source, and the source they go to is sick and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence,” said Kerry.

“So what you need, what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern by hopefully having, you know, winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change,” he added.

------------------

This election, in Kerry’s view, will determine if the government will be able to wield power with enough force and speed to suppress free speech.

“I think Democracies are very challenged right now, and have not proven they can move fast enough or big enough to deal with the challenges that we are facing, and to me that is part of what this race, this election is all about,” said Kerry.

Statements from both Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), appear to confirm Kerry’s claim that the 2024 election will decide the future of the First Amendment.

“There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech, and especially around our democracy,” said Gov. Walz on MSNBC in a resurfaced clip.

He may not need confirmation if Trump is able to use a recess appointment (or as Gaetz calls it, a first date).

The constitution doesn't give illegal immigrant pedophiles the right to swing their dong in front of my daughter in a bathroom while making it a hate crime for me to object.

you know what, continue your absurd rhetoric.  This obvious hysteria is what drove many liberals to abandon the democrat party.  I support your TDS self-immolation, continue.

Fine.  1st unregistered sex offender AG.  Feel better?  Still like him as a person?  A leader?

Evidence: when the House releases the report, you'll have your proof.  I bet a beer they will.

Hey you walnut, this isn't your strong suit but try thinking from a perspective other than your own. I understand why you don't support Trump over Harris. Obviously I think it's the wrong decision, but I have the cognitive capacity to view it from your perspective based on what you've said.

Are you too stupid to do this, or are you just too hurt from the loss to do anything but snipe right now? I sincerely hope that the rest of your party, or better put, the people who think like you do absolutely nothing to analyze the constitutional failings of "their side." Because nothing at this point would make me happier than 4 years of trump followed by 8 years of JD Vance.

You had a literal cartoon of a toxic progressive running for president against Donald Trump. That's why Trump won. If you sincerely think that a riot at the Capitol is the most dangerous threat to the Constitution in the past decade or so, then you just aren't paying attention.

Some of us are familiar with and care about the entire Constitution, not just the parts that are convenient to our political narrative. I have two candidates who selectively favor parts of the Constitution/BoR. The Democrats far and beyond threaten more of, and more important parts.

When the Republicans start threatening all of the norms of Congress, the executive branch, and the supreme Court, then I will wholeheartedly agree with you. But you are pretending like Donald Trump started all of this, when in fact he is just a response to the constitutional disregard of progressives for the past 20ish years.

LIberals are unable to effectively model conservative thought. It's a thing. Which to me, explains a lot of the derangement surrounding Trump. Conservatives don't have the same issue. You ask a conservative to explain a liberal's position, 9/10 times they will be able to effectively articulate what a liberal thinks and why. Swap the roles, however, and you don't get the same result. You get derangement, hysteria, panic, etc. This explains much of the underlying reason why our politics and conversation right now is so inert.

To confirm, you’re saying when the House report is released you bet there will be proof that Gaetz is a sex offender, which is a felony?  You’re betting me alcohol that the house report will have evidence sufficient to uphold criminal charges of felony sex offense?

I accept your terms.  Let’s gamble.
