uhhello Posted Sunday at 03:35 AM Posted Sunday at 03:35 AM According to U.S. Central Command; a Friendly-Fire Incident occurred earlier tonight over the Red Sea, with a U.S. Navy F/A-18F “Super Hornet” from the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) being Accidentally Shot-Down by the Ticonderoga-Class Guided-Missile Cruiser, USS Gettysburg (CG-64). Both Pilots were able to Safely Eject over the Water, and have since been Rescued; with one of the Pilots suffering Minor Injuries. 1
brabus Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM Holy shit, glad they got out OK. The Admiral is going to have some butts, and a lot of them. 1 5

Lord Ratner Posted Sunday at 04:31 AM Posted Sunday at 04:31 AM (edited) So many questions. Were they able to get visual on the missile? Did they just eject when they heard the warning, in an time that they had no expectation taking fire? Did the missile ship broadcast to bail out over guard? 😂🤣 Edited Sunday at 04:32 AM by Lord Ratner
yellerfever Posted Sunday at 04:44 AM Posted Sunday at 04:44 AM Is the NFO angrier about getting shot down or being called a “pilot”?? 1

arg Posted yesterday at 12:33 AM Posted yesterday at 12:33 AM Some of the comments around net are blaming DEI. I got a chuckle out of this one. "I know nothing about targeting systems, but I would think something is in place to prevent this sort of thing." "Don’t feel bad , apparently they know nothing about it either." 1

brabus Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The data from the bros is unbelievable from the perspective of how benign the situation was and the guys on the boat still fucked up to this extent. There are many people who deserve to have ruined careers over this. Zero sympathy for what comes to those in the chain of command. 1
RedEye1911 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago At least it wasn't an airliner full of people this time. 1
