brabus Posted Tuesday at 04:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:53 PM Maybe LLWS, the approach doesn’t look unstable (but who knows at this point). Incredible everyone got out.
kaputt Posted Tuesday at 05:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:29 PM They are very lucky that whole thing didn’t go up in flames when the wing broke off. 1

B52gator Posted Tuesday at 10:14 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:14 PM There are people on Reddit who actually believe Trump's "gutting" of the FAA was the reason for this crash. 1
disgruntledemployee Posted Tuesday at 11:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:06 PM The landing gear couldn't handle the situation. Navy guy going for the 3 wire?

Prosuper Posted Wednesday at 05:48 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:48 AM Looking at it , it sure looks like a flaps up landing, not a pilot but sure you guys lower them for a normal approach.

Hard to tell from that video. A flaps up landing is a non-normal (emergency) procedure in most big jets. I would assume there would have been some discussion with ATC if they did have some sort of mechanical issue.
reloder Posted Wednesday at 04:49 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:49 PM Google has pictures of the left main gear area that appear to show flaps and slats extended.
disgruntledemployee Posted Wednesday at 07:24 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:24 PM One set of flaps look down. Check the other wing.
Vetter Posted yesterday at 07:28 AM Posted yesterday at 07:28 AM Have they named the hero crew yet? I mean, they saved 80 people. 2 1

Biff_T Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) Somebody refresh my memory but isn't the CRJ900 at Delta flown by mainline Delta crews? If so, at least they're already at the majors. You gotta land all of your kickflips at the regionals to have any chance of going to the majors. Edited 20 hours ago by Biff_T
