Smokin Posted Thursday at 03:06 PM Posted Thursday at 03:06 PM Apparently Korea needs to go read 11-214. There were very very few incidents over my career where I finished reading the safety report and thought 'no way would this be me even on my worst day.' This would probably be one of those exceptions. And "at least 8"? Strange config for a single F-16.
Motofalcon Posted Thursday at 03:59 PM Posted Thursday at 03:59 PM I guess it could have been worse if they dropped all 18.
waveshaper Posted Thursday at 06:02 PM Posted Thursday at 06:02 PM Here's some additional info/video/etc: The two fighter jets mistakenly dropped their bombs outside the target area – the Seungjin Fire Training Field (AKA - Nightmare Range). https://www.twz.com/air/south-korean-f-16s-just-bombed-a-town-by-accident 1
TreeA10 Posted Friday at 01:36 PM Posted Friday at 01:36 PM (edited) I went round and round with a Korean ground FAC trying to talk me onto a target. He kept asking me to identify a Yankee in the road. I can't find anything remotely related to U.S. equipment. After numerous "Negative contact on the Yankee in the road", he comes back with "Yankee in road, you know, Y." So, important safety tip, if war breaks out in Korea, do not stand on a blidgee or a Y intersection. Edited Friday at 01:36 PM by TreeA10 1
