icohftb Posted Friday at 06:09 PM Posted Friday at 06:09 PM Bet it will combine all the magic of the T-7, 737, kc-46 and rocket programs they've been rocking. 1 6
StrikeOut312 Posted Friday at 06:21 PM Posted Friday at 06:21 PM We got a 6th gen fighter before a KC-135 replacement! Hell yeah. Can’t wait to tank this bad boy. 1 3
Flev Posted Friday at 06:30 PM Posted Friday at 06:30 PM Boeing got the NGAD contract before we got GTA 6 smh. 4
StoleIt Posted Friday at 06:58 PM Posted Friday at 06:58 PM If Boeing's past performance is an indicator of future performance...this will definitely be on time and under budget. /sarcasm 1

Standby Posted Friday at 09:15 PM Posted Friday at 09:15 PM Any bets on how similar this jet looks to the recently unveiled 6th gen that Chinas been flying?
icohftb Posted Friday at 11:45 PM Posted Friday at 11:45 PM (edited) I think they ordered it off Temu (before the tariffs went into effect) Edited Friday at 11:45 PM by icohftb 1
Clark Griswold Posted Saturday at 12:29 AM Posted Saturday at 12:29 AM 5 years from now on BO… ”Who had 30 billion over budget and no planes yet built?” 1 3
brabus Posted Saturday at 03:09 AM Posted Saturday at 03:09 AM Frankly I’m glad Boeing won over LM - we all hated LM’s. Timeline and programmatic fuckery will happen with either company anyways. 10-15 years before that thing is combat capable - sad, but I don’t think I’ll be proven wrong unless some serious changes are made to our acquisitions process. 1

Clark Griswold Posted Saturday at 06:44 PM Posted Saturday at 06:44 PM From the ‘tube so caveat emptor but some initial thoughts that are probably in the ballpark of truth…Very stealthy Focused on itself being air to air / tactical C2 Very long ranged Not built to last for super long time, 20 years then on to next gen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SurelySerious Posted Saturday at 07:00 PM Posted Saturday at 07:00 PM Not built to last for super long time, 20 years then on to next gen Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThis has to be the way forward with rapid innovation. Making one really good platform and resting on our laurels only works under certain geopolitical situations. In the realm of F aircraft: As awesome as Raptor is, thinking it will be the only high end fighter we need for 30+ years was a weakness, especially after the Gates debacle.
SpeedOfHeat Posted Saturday at 07:09 PM Posted Saturday at 07:09 PM ......just when you think the narcissism and cult-like worship couldn't possibly get any more ridiculous. If it does turn out to totally fail to deliver on its promises, at least it'll live up to its namesake. 1

Concur I wish this could spread to other requirements/acquisitions Good enough is good enough, good enough plus quickly delivered at a reasonable cost is great. 1
Clark Griswold Posted Sunday at 03:31 AM Posted Sunday at 03:31 AM Alright here’s the 69 billion dollar question… do you divest the Raptors to get the money to buy the -47? Handling the interim risk with 15EX and 35
