Guest viper24 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I just selected to go to UPT when i graduate from college and i have many questions about UPT. *What is the hardest part of UPT and what is the best advise anyone can give to a green 2Lt going to UPT? *Is there things i can/should be studying while still in college to get me ahead of the game? *How hard is it to get fighter/bomber track select? I have many more questions, just cant think of them right now. Thanks for the help
Guest jriggoMOANG Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 For starters, DO A SEARCH. There are more then likely thousands of posts that refer to what you are asking! Just a little advice for ya.
Guest turtle Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Congratulations *The hardest part of UPT is being a student. You'll understand when you get here. *Best advise, show up and have a positive attitude no matter what happens. *Don't study anything; you'll learn everything at UPT. Enjoy the time off, they'll be very little at UPT. *Fighter/Bomber track, it's not hard if you're the #1 stud in your class (I wasn’t). Don't worry about it, just control the things you can... academics, EPQ's, mission prep, and keep a positive attitude (some days it will be hard to). You can't control the flying part or the weather... you either have "it" or you don't. Just because you want to be a fighter guy now doesn’t mean you will when track select comes around. The first day of UPT academes everybody (with a few exceptions) wants to be a “fighter pilot”. Things change in Phase II. Flying the T-6 or that 5,000# dog whistle is like nothing you’ve every experienced. Bottom line, relax and enjoy UPT… you’re getting paid to do things that most people can’t imagine. [ 01. WHAP Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 2nd on what turtle said. Enjoy what you can about UPT, it will be some of the best and worst times of your life, and I say that only having gone through half of it.
