Guest G-unit Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I hear that!! Just turned 27 and start UPT a couple of months from now after ASBC . . . married, a 15 month old daughter . . . and damn it - feels good to be going. What a blessing to chase my dreams after years of concrete construction and college. Man, I sound so cheesy and sentimental . . . almost as if I was old or something.
Guest Bullmastiff Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Get many former army helo guys coming through over the age of 30? I understand you dont need a waiver, if you were an Army Aviator?
Guest rotorhead Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 SEARCH FUNCTION! If you are a military rated aviator, UNDERGRADUATE pilot training age is not restrictive, because you are already a rated military pilot. The OTS age issue STILL applies, for you WO to CO folks.
Guest Bushmaster Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I don't think age matters; what matters is your determination to succeed while serving your country. Let's not forget the reasons why we are here. That is all about it... I am about to turn 28, and by the time I am ready for WOFT I should be a litle over 29 or 30. Still needs a waier but who cares, I am much better than many 20 to 25 year olds around, in many aspects. Army is supposedly raising the age limit to 32 for flight training and apparently age is not a big issue to them, -one of my instructors got in flight program at 32-, as long as you are physically fit and there is no problem with your flying. If you ask me, some folks here are pretty rude thinking 33-34 year olds are grandpas. Those people happen to be more mature and I bet they would not be talking about some people's stupid screwup experiments with alcohol while trying hard not to break their hips.
Guest Bushmaster Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Man, I sound so cheesy and sentimental . . . almost as if I was old or something.Being old is good, you have MORE memories and experiences to share with youngsters who have little. [ 08. June 2005, 08:54: Message edited by: Bushmaster ]
zrooster99 Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 If you ask me, some folks here are pretty rude thinking 33-34 year olds are grandpas. It's all relative. To you I'm young at 29, to me my class mates are young at 22-23...
