I really liked the 135 but I just couldn’t swing it when it came out. Being such a small production run, I imagine they’ve all long since been spoken for.

Another pilot in my squadron got one recently, and there several of us with the second production model. The original run was limited to 135 pieces, has a SAC patch where the second hand is, NKAWTG at the 12 o’clock position and a blue face. It was popular enough that they redid it but without the USAF-specifics so any country’s tanker pilots can get one. 1

However, not all of the watch works due to multiple FCIFs. 2 4

I've looked at quite a few options, but can't decide which features I desire in a watch. For those with E6B watches, do you ever actually use the E6B? I think at the least I want something with local and Zulu time. I found some nice watches by Torgoen, but there are cheaper aviator watches by Casio for less than $100. All suggestions are welcome!

Swatch Moonswatch, mission to the moon, is a genuine, affordable replica of one of the most iconic aviation watches. Seiko, Sports 5 GMT, is likely the most affordable, quality automatic GMT movement on the market. I recently saw one at the BX so you can probably find it tax free. Casio is always an excellent choice, particularly if a model catches your eye. Citizen is an excellent choice above Casio. Both brands have some great options that offer a combined digital/analog face with solar charging and radio freq time synch. My must have in a watch for work is a date and GMT function, and I prefer automatic/mechanical movements. I have never used the E6B on a watch I own, however if that's your thing it can be a cool feature.

If you’re heavy/airline … I’ve got a citizen satellite wave that I’ve been very happy with. Sapphire crystal. Hacks itself off the gps signal. Can set time zone off gps if you wake up on a desert island. Solar powered. It’s been flawless. Recommend. Edited July 26 by HossHarris
herkbum Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I love my Citizen watches, especially the Eco-Drives with auto updating. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app 1
StoleIt Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) I use this on the road: Timex Q It's cheap enough I don't care if it gets banged up or stolen. But looks nice enough from 20 feet away...and, added bonus, is useful with 3x time zones (home, zulu, and then spin the dial for local) Edited July 26 by StoleIt 1
