What IS the '24hr Billeting Rule', and where is it written???

I think he's referring to the Space-A rules. They've changed recently, but I don't know where it's written...

If you're at the location less than 24 hrs, you can evidently bypass billeting and get a room off base. I don't know or have never found where this is written. Probably in the travel regs somewhere...good luck finding it!

It works still. I used it last month. The airman processing my travel voucher didn't know about the 24hr rule and wanted a non-avail. I told him to find a supervisor and ask about the 24hr rule. He came back and processed it no problem. I used to keep a copy, i'll try to find it.
