Guest Chuck Sargent Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Heard a rumor all J Models were grounded as of last Friday. Any truth to this?
Guest AirGuardian Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 By the term "all", do you mean international as well... Saw a few "J"s when we passed thru Nellis (Red Flag) this past weekend... They didn't seem to be grounded, but they(Aussie's) sure did park their aircraft like crap. We had to deploy a wing walker just to get by one on the opposite side of the ramp before departure. What a fiasco "Red Flag" is... 100's of fighters, bombers, numerous dishtops, plenty of 130's and tankers all clustered together leaving the Nellis like rats from a sinking ship that morning. Fairly enjoyed delaying a bunch of pointy nosed fellas after our departure with wake turbulence... Must be hot with the sun beating down, despite the environmental control and all. Hope our 2 Guard F-16 units we dropped off there kick some butt!
Guest HueyPilot Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 The Js here at the Rock were flying as of last night.
Guest lovelacm Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Saw some British J's flying combat missions down here in the Sandbox yesterday.. they beat the bejeezus out of our climb performance coming back out, so I don't think they're grounded.. Cheers! Linda
JS Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Saw one flying at Mobile the other day (USAF). Don't think it was grounded.
Guest Chuck Sargent Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Thanks, guys. It was from an unreliable source, but I didn't have time to research it.
Guest foties41 Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 I just flew the J today, and heard the same rumor. Our sources also say that is a rumor. Late
Guest waggonman Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Hi Foties, any decent pics out there of 115th Js or Es ?, cheers, Wag
