I’ve handed out assignments as a phase 3 commander, taught young dudes how to fly F-16s and been exposed to AFPC on how they handle assignments. I was also a XX-15 graduate, last class in the fiscal year, best drop we had seen in years. Everyone who doesn’t know how this works was thinking doom and gloom, they are wrong. Work it out in your own mind, follow on training for anyone that graduates toward the end of the year, their MWS training will be next fiscal year. Doesn’t mean you won’t get screwed. Ask the 15-13/14/15 dudes.
matmacwc Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 This is true, there is somebody in every class who though they got screwed.

YoungnDumb Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Talking with a buddy who recently left there FAIP's are almost the only way they get IP's at Laughlin anymore, guess there has a been a large number of 7 day opts following the notice they're headed to KDLF.
LookieRookie Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 FAIPs also will be doing sim instructor duties at some bases.
2niner Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 (edited) 5 FAIPs in the drop at KEND last night as well. 3 T-6 and 2 T-38. Don't have the full list of drops though. Edited October 13, 2018 by 2niner

YoungnDumb Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 When is the last "class" at the UPT bases? By this I mean, which is the last group to have a traditional drop night, and have they figured out how assignment selection will work?

How does a prior-MWS guy who still has 3+ years left on their initial 10 year ADSC 7-day opt out of going to Laughlin? By the way, I know for a fact that MWS guys are going to Laughlin. Stop talking out of your ass or relaying information from guys talking out of their ass. 1

Not sure about other communities, but KC-135 IP’s are certified sim operators after graduating instructor school. This doesn’t sound like such a crazy idea to me. Edited October 14, 2018 by Runr6730 Apparently not a MAF wide thing
