Beaver Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 You can't bring cars to Japan because the Japanese won't let you. If you want to ship a car over that was manufactured prior to 1977, you can, with wing commander approval. Good luck. You can't take Japanese cars back to the states unless you have them modified to meet US emissions and crash standards, which isn't cheap.
Guest Infinotize Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Does anyone know how this works with motorcycles (going overseas that is)? I would think since they wouldn't have to be converted to RHD or anything it would be feasable... anyone know one way or another?
Guest dpocock2 Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Those of you that bought a car before commissioning - were you still having to pay off student loans at the same time, or were you pretty much debt free? I'm just trying to see how feasible a new car really is.
Guest chaw Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Just another opinion.... A new car is pretty cool, but when you are in your second year of paying $500/month, it may lose it's luster. You just have to decide if you want to take on a $25,000 debt when you have no savings, and no assetts. Wait as long as possible before taking on debt, but that's just my opinion. [ 23.
