Guest guardhopefull Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Got a buddy who wants to know if his son can apply to the USAF for a pilot slot with a GED. He graduated college so he has his bachelors but when in high school he dropped out for 2 months and then had to pursue the GED. I looked for some regs but came up short. Some other people have told me that he can't but figured I would ask around. Thanks
Guest Wxpunk Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Your high school transcripts have nothing to do with your pilot package. On that note, I'd say he can. THIS IS UNOFFICIAL. I commend your friend for turning it around. ----------- Wxpunk
Guest CAVOK Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 To the best of my knowledge: Once you have 15 college credits your GED does not matter any more. A factor for enlisting--not a factor for commissioning. CAVOK
Guest pcampbell Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 There was a dude in my ENJJPT class with a GED. Any questions?
Guest RJacobs Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I am in the same boat as your buddy's son. I dropped out of highschool, got my GED and now have my B.S. and M.S. and have not had anybody ask me for a highschool transcript. College yes, but highschool no. So from first hand experience, NO. If that is the only reason that anybody can come up with to deny a slot of any kind than that is BS.
