Flyman Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 On AD orders do you still get a say in the trips you go on or is it just like AD where you go where they tell you..?
Lockjaw Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 It depends. Are enough people raising their hands to go, where they don't NEED you to go? Then no, you won't NEED to go - unless you're already fragged for that as part of an upgrade, you're a junior guy who needs the experience, etc. If there aren't enough volunteers (AKA - the trip probably sucks, or the ops tempo has been high), then...you're probably going if you're on orders/AGR. 2

What about seasoning AD orders. Are you likely to get on most trips? Or still depends?

That’s what they are there for. Of course the budget fluctuates but by enlarge they want young mobility guys doing mobility stuff.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

We want our young guys and girls getting exposure to different areas/assets/scenarios. There are exceptions, but in most cases you'll be a priority.
brabus Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 If you’re worried about important family events, etc. you’d miss, the guard is generally much better about taking care of people than AD. But, you are full time, so I wouldn’t expect to skate out on a bunch of trips. And as a new guy, going on trips is great for many reasons, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. 1
